Jersey, OH

Jersey is a small Licking County community whose name comes from the surrounding Jersey Township. The place was laid out in 1832, when the area’s roads and farm lanes were still defining where a settlement might take hold. A post office opened in 1833 and stayed in operation until 1907, giving Jersey a place in the old rural mail network even as larger nearby towns handled more commerce.
