Jonesville, VA

Jonesville is Lee County's seat in far southwestern Virginia, a courthouse town laid out on land donated by Frederick Jones. The settlement was first called Glade Springs and was established as the county seat in 1794, with the town charter renewed through the nineteenth century and the current charter dating to 1901. Daniel Boone passed through the area in 1775, and the local story sits at the meeting point of the Powell Valley, Clinch Valley, and roads toward Kentucky and Tennessee.
