Joppa, AL

Joppa is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Cullman and Marshall counties in north Alabama. The community was named after the ancient city of Jaffa, an unexpectedly old-world reference for a small rural place. At the 2020 census, Joppa had 556 residents, and its location in northeastern Cullman County keeps it tied to nearby small towns rather than a major center. Joppa is residential, rural, and mostly defined by county roads, local history, and north Alabama farmland.
