Joseph, UT

Joseph is a Sevier County town in central Utah, settled in 1871 in the high plateau country east of the Sevier River. Its name honors Joseph Angell Young, who helped lay out the townsite after families returned to the area in the early 1870s. Graveyard Hollow lies within the town, while Dell Lott Hollow is nearby, giving the small grid a set of local landforms that still appear in everyday directions.

Joseph Town maintains its own council, community center, public notices, and municipal services, with a stated aim of keeping a rural and historic atmosphere.
