About Julian

Julian is a Nemaha County village with 46 residents and 34 housing units in the 2020 Census. A rural post office opened here in 1880, and French immigrants organized St. Bernard's Catholic Church in 1881. The Missouri Pacific Railroad reached the area in 1887, establishing a depot and townsite named for landowner Julian Bahuaud. Grain elevators, stores, a school, and churches made Julian an agricultural service point before later highways bypassed the village.
