About Kaanapali

Kāʻanapali is a planned resort community and census-designated place in Maui County, Hawaii, situated on the western shore of the island of Maui. Located north of the historic whaling town of Lahaina, the community of approximately 1,170 was developed in the 1960s as a resort destination along the mile-long Kāʻanapali Beach and Hanakaʻōʻō Canoe Beach. Public education is administered by the Hawaii Department of Education.
