Kalaheo, HI

Kalaheo is an unincorporated community and census-designated place on the south side of Kauai, west of Lawai and inland from the Poipu and Koloa coast. It has a cooler, upland feel compared with the beach areas below, with residential neighborhoods, local schools, small businesses, and views toward the ocean and mountains. Kalaheo is practical for people who want access to Kauai's south shore without living directly in the resort zone. The community feels local, green, and quieter than the island's visitor centers.
