Kenai, AK

Kenai is a Kenai Peninsula city on the west side of the peninsula, where the Kenai River reaches Cook Inlet. It is one of Alaska's larger cities by state standards, with road access about 158 miles southwest of Anchorage. The river and salmon are central to how people know the place, especially the large Chinook salmon associated with the Kenai River. Kenai feels like a working coastal Alaska city: fishing, oil-region history, services, and broad Cook Inlet views.
