About Kenbridge
Kenbridge is a Lunenburg County town that grew along the railroad linking West Virginia's coalfields with the port of Norfolk. By 1910, a bank and shops had filled out downtown, and Fifth Avenue became a five-block line of Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, and bungalow houses. The town also claims folk artist Eldridge Bagley, so the local story has both a preserved streetscape and a distinctly personal creative thread. Kenbridge is south-central Virginia in a railroad-and-Fifth-Avenue shape.
