Keokuk is a city and a county seat of Lee County, Iowa, operating as the southernmost city in the state. Named in honor of the Sauk chief Keokuk at the confluence of the Des Moines and Mississippi rivers, the community of approximately 9,662 is served by the Keokuk Community School District for public education for local students.
