Kershaw, SC

Kershaw is a quiet Lancaster County town with around 1,700 residents and a relaxed, rural pace. Originally settled as a 19th-century railroad stop, the community grew into a steady hub for farming, textiles, and regional trade. One of its most notable features is the Haile Gold Mine just outside town, an active operation that has shaped the area since gold was first discovered there in the 1820s. Today, the town offers a low-key atmosphere with plenty of open space and deep local roots.
