About Kibler

Kibler is a Crawford County city south of Alma and east of Van Buren, sitting between Interstate 40 and the Arkansas River. The place began as Prairie Grove, then picked up the Kibler name as stores, a cotton gin, churches, and a grist mill gathered around the crossroads. Natural gas discoveries gave the area another chapter in the early twentieth century, and the city incorporated in 1963. Highway 162 is still called Kibler Highway here. Kibler is western Arkansas in a crossroads pattern: river nearby, gas beneath, and a town built one business at a time.
