Killeen, TX

Killeen started out as a modest railroad stop in the 1880s, shipping cotton across Central Texas. Everything changed during World War II when the Army established Camp Hood nearby. What began as a wartime training facility quickly turned into a permanent fixture, driving decades of rapid growth. Today, Killeen is home to over 150,000 residents, with Fort Hood standing as one of the country's largest active-duty military installations.
