About Kingsland
Kingsland is a southeast Georgia city in Camden County, close to the Florida line and the coast. It was platted in 1894 when the railroad reached the area and was named for William Henry King, the original owner of the site. The Kingsland Commercial Historic District preserves part of that older town story, while the modern economy is closely tied to nearby Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. Kingsland feels like a gateway city: military, highway-oriented, and connected to both coastal Georgia and Jacksonville.
