Kingston, AR

Kingston is a Madison County CDP in the Kings River valley, where the town square and Arkansas Highways 21 and 74 organize the place. The Bunch Store, built in 1890 on the square, served as a general store, farm-supply counter, and community meeting space; the Bank of Kingston is also listed on the National Register. The store's history reflects Kingston's farming economy, with produce, hides, eggs, honey, and other goods moving through the building toward regional railroad centers. Kingston's local map joins a preserved commercial square to the roads connecting the valley with Huntsville and the wider Ozarks.
