Kinsman Center, OH

Kinsman Center is a Trumbull County census-designated place and unincorporated community in Kinsman Township, Ohio. The 2020 census counted 574 residents. It lies at the intersection of State Routes 5 and 7 between Williamsfield and Burghill and belongs to the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area. The name can cause confusion because the wider township and the CDP are both commonly called Kinsman; this place is the community at the township center in northern Ohio, within the township’s older settlement pattern.

John Kinsman, a land agent, supplied the name. A post office with ZIP Code 44428 and the Kinsman Free Public Library give the community everyday institutions, while the two state routes carry traffic through the township. Kinsman Center has the shape of a small Ohio crossroads: a named center within a larger township, with roads, mail, library, and nearby rural homes doing most of the local work. Its location makes it part of the Youngstown-Warren orbit, but its daily map remains the intersection and the surrounding township.
