Kinston is a city and the county seat of Lenoir County, North Carolina, situated in the eastern coastal plains region along the Neuse River. The community of approximately 19,505 has won the All-America City Award twice in a twenty-one year span, most recently in 2009. Known for its local dining scene and recreation at Barnet Park, the city is home to the Down East Bird Dawgs baseball team of the Frontier League and is served by Lenoir County Public Schools.
