Klukwan, AK

Klukwan is a historic census-designated place in Alaska, situated on the north side of the Chilkat River along the Haines Highway. Klukwan originated as a Chilkat Tlingit settlement along the traditional trade route later known as the Dalton Trail. Although it is an enclave of Haines Borough, the community is administered under the Hoonah-Angoon Census Area, offering a rich Native cultural heritage.
