Knightstown, IN

Knightstown is a quiet Henry County community situated right along the historic National Road on U.S. 40. Settled in the early 1800s, the town originally grew around the river and railway, and that historic character is still very much alive today. Its compact downtown features vintage brick storefronts, local antique shops, and quiet residential streets that give the area a classic small-town feel. It is a peaceful place to settle down, offering plenty of open space while keeping you within an easy drive of Indianapolis.

The town’s biggest claim to fame is the Hoosier Gym, which served as the home court for the Hickory Huskers in the movie Hoosiers. Built in 1921, the gym is still an active community court where you can catch youth games or stop by for a visit. Outside of basketball, everyday life revolves around community gatherings like the annual Jubilee Days festival, paddling along the Big Blue River, and supporting the local Charles A. Beard schools. It adds up to a friendly, close-knit community with deep roots and a relaxed pace.
