Koyukuk, AK

Koyukuk is a city in Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area, Alaska, located on the Yukon River near the mouth of the Koyukuk River, approximately fifty kilometers west of Galena. With a population of 98 at the 2020 census, the community has a history as a trading point between the Koyukon people and Inupiat traders from the Kobuk River area. The Ella B. Vernetti School, operated by the Yukon-Koyukuk School District, serves local students.
