Krotz Springs, LA

Sitting along the western banks of the Atchafalaya River, Krotz Springs is a quiet St. Landry Parish community of around 800 residents. The town got its name around the turn of the twentieth century when an Ohio investor drilled for oil and struck an artesian water spring instead. Today, it serves as a welcoming gateway to the Atchafalaya Basin, where living close to the water means easy access to some of the best fishing, boating, and swamp adventures in south Louisiana.
