Kualapuu, HI

Set in the cooler, breezy uplands of central Molokai, Kualapuu is a quiet, close-knit community with deep rural roots. Home to around 2,000 residents, the town originally grew around Del Monte's pineapple operations and still retains its plantation-era character. While Kualapuu has a few local staples like a corner market and the popular Kualapuu Cookhouse, residents head about ten minutes south to Kaunakakai for major grocery runs, healthcare, and government offices.
