Kupreanof, AK

Kupreanof is a tiny city on the eastern shore of Kupreanof Island in Alaska's Petersburg Borough. It sits across Wrangell Narrows from Petersburg on Mitkof Island, so the larger town across the water is an important part of the local map. The population was 21 in 2020, down from 27 in 2010. Kupreanof is best understood as a very small island community, shaped by water access, forest, nearby Petersburg, and Southeast Alaska weather.
