About Kure Beach

Kure Beach is a town in New Hanover County, North Carolina, situated on Pleasure Island fifteen miles south of Wilmington. Located directly north of the historic Fort Fisher site, the coastal community of approximately 2,466 was target to a German U-boat attack during World War II. Public education is served by New Hanover County Schools.
