La Cygne, KS

La Cygne sits on the east bank of the Marais des Cygnes River in eastern Linn County, four miles west of US 69 on K-152. The city's name follows the river: the French phrase means "Marsh of the Swans," while La Cygne translates to "The Swan." The town was established in 1869, and today the river, La Cygne Lake, and Linn County Park shape the local map as much as the streets do.
