About Laconia
Laconia is a New Hampshire city in the Lakes Region, closely tied to Lake Winnipesaukee and The Weirs. Long before modern tourism, an Abenaki settlement called Aquadoctan stood at the fishing weirs that gave Weirs Beach its name. Today Laconia has public schools, the restored Colonial Theatre, lake access, and a long tradition of seasonal visitors. It is also known for Laconia Motorcycle Week. The city feels like a working Lakes Region center, with summer energy, old mill-town elements, and water never far away.
