About Lafayette

Lafayette is a city and the county seat of Macon County, Tennessee, situated near the Kentucky border. Founded in 1843 and named in honor of the Marquis de Lafayette, the agricultural community of approximately 5,727 is a leading producer of burley tobacco and is served by the Macon County Board of Education for public primary and secondary education.
