Lagrange, IN

LaGrange is the LaGrange County seat, a town of 2,625 residents in the 2020 census laid out at the intersection of U.S. 20 and State Road 9. The street plan still carries that origin: the town was platted in 1836 with a crosswork of wide streets around a public square, and the county courthouse and town offices keep the square tied to government and local business. That county-seat role stays visible in the center, where government, local business, and the square share the same few blocks.

The surrounding county adds a different layer.
