Laguna Park, TX

Laguna Park is an unincorporated census-designated place on the south end of Lake Whitney in southeastern Bosque County. The 2020 census counted 1,372 residents. The community took shape after Whitney Dam was completed around 1951, when State Highway 22 moved from Walling Bend onto the dam crest and a new route opened along the lake. Small shops and a post office served the surrounding farm country, while weekend visitors came for the water. Even the road history tells you how the place works: the dam is both infrastructure and the main local landmark.

Lake Whitney sets the current map. Fishing piers, boat access, campgrounds, lake homes, and marinas spread around the shoreline, with Juniper Cove reached from FM 1713 and Lake Whitney State Park nearby on the larger reservoir. Laguna Park itself remains a small rural lake community without a formal municipal government, so people orient by the highway, the dam, the coves, and the Bosque County roads leading toward Whitney and Waco. The water is the reason the place exists, and it still organizes the way residents and visitors move through it.
