Lake Camelot, WI

Lake Camelot is a census-designated place in the Town of Rome, in Adams County's central Wisconsin lake country. The 2020 census counted 895 residents. It grew around a man-made lake created in 1970, with upper and lower basins connected by a dug channel. Camelot is part of the area's Tri-Lakes group with Lake Arrowhead and Sherwood Lake, so the community's map is shaped as much by water management and boat launches as by roads. Lower Camelot covers about 260 surface acres, while the full man-made lake is commonly described at about 393 acres.

Adams County maintains a public launch and county park, while the Lake Camelot Property Owners Association handles many neighborhood and lake-community details, including the lodge and annual events. There is no traditional main street to organize the place; shorelines, subdivisions, wooded common areas, and recreation spaces do that job. Lake Camelot's local scoop is a Wisconsin CDP that is really a planned lakeside community, with a 1970 reservoir doing the work a downtown would do elsewhere.
