Lake Carmel, NY

Lake Carmel is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Kent, Putnam County, New York. Centered around a 1.6-mile manmade lake developed in the 1920s by the Smadbeck brothers, the residential community of approximately 7,900 serves as the seat of Kent's town government. Zoned within the Carmel Central School District, the neighborhood lies west of Interstate 84 and is served by the volunteer Lake Carmel Fire Department.
