Lake City, SC

Located in southern Florence County, Lake City is a welcoming small town of about 6,000 people with deep farming roots. The community grew around strawberries, tobacco, and a bustling produce trade, and that heritage is still visible throughout the area. Downtown centers around The Bean Market, a restored 1930s auction warehouse that now hosts farmers markets, concerts, and local gatherings right next to the town green.

Lake City is also known across the region for its vibrant arts scene. Every spring, the ArtFields festival turns downtown restaurants, storefronts, and historic venues into open exhibition spaces. Families benefit from district schools with dedicated arts and science programs, and U.S. 52 provides an easy drive north to Florence for work, medical care, or bigger shopping trips.
