Lake San Marcos is a resort-oriented community in northern San Diego County, built around the lake that gives it its name. The area sits within the larger San Marcos orbit, with schools in San Marcos Unified School District and quick access to nearby coastal and inland job centers. Its setting is residential and recreational: lake views, condos, single-family homes, golf, and walking paths are a large part of the feel. Lake San Marcos is quieter than the city around it, but still very much connected to North County.
