Lake Sherwood, WI

Lake Sherwood is a census-designated place in the town of Rome, Adams County, Wisconsin, where the 2020 census counted 357 residents. The community takes its name from the man-made lake created in the 1960s by N. E. Isaacson, the first of Rome's three planned lakes. Lake Sherwood is the smallest of the three, with bass, northern pike, walleye, and panfish drawing anglers to its water. Rome's three lakes are impoundments in the Fourteenmile Creek watershed, tying the CDP to a larger regional water system.

Boaters and waterskiers also use the lake, while a park and boat landing sit along the shore near Highway 13. The larger Rome area grew from an 1857 town settlement into a recreation-centered community with Lake Petenwell, Lake Camelot, Lake Arrowhead's golf courses, and the Tri-Norse ski tradition. Lake Sherwood's residents are part of the Nekoosa School District, and the CDP's daily geography is tied to the lake, the road, and the wider Town of Rome.
