Lake Tomahawk, OH

Lake Tomahawk is a Columbiana County census-designated place built around a man-made lake in Middleton Township. American Realty Service Corporation established the private planned community in 1966, and the reservoir remains the obvious center of the map. The lake is spring-fed and stocked with fish, while the roads and homes wrap around its shoreline. This is eastern Ohio in a very literal arrangement: a named community organized around a reservoir, with the water doing most of the work.
