Lake Waconda, NE

Lake Waconda is a census-designated place in Cass County, built around a residential lake development between Murray and Union, east of Highway 75 and roughly twenty-five miles south of Omaha. The lake is man-made, about ninety acres, and dates to the mid-1960s. That gives this place a different feel from an old Nebraska town: its center is the water and the surrounding lots, not a courthouse square or a long commercial main street.
