Land O' Lakes, FL

A stagecoach line crossed what is now Land O’ Lakes by the 1840s, and an early-twentieth-century railroad brought a station to the area. The Pasco County census-designated place is part of the Tampa–St. Petersburg–Clearwater metropolitan area; the 2020 census recorded 35,929 residents. U.S. Route 41 is its principal north–south road, State Road 52 provides an east–west route across central Pasco County, and the Suncoast Parkway follows its western edge. The community was also the site of Dupree Gardens, one of Florida’s early roadside attractions. Residents established an honorary mayoralty in 1968, but the position is ceremonial and carries no governing authority.
