Lanesboro, PA

Lanesboro is a quiet, scenic borough in northeastern Pennsylvania, tucked into the hills where Starrucca Creek meets the Susquehanna River. The town grew along the water, but its defining feature has always been the towering Starrucca Viaduct. Completed in the 1840s from local stone, the massive 17-arch railroad bridge spans over a thousand feet across the valley and provides an impressive backdrop to daily life in the community.

Freight trains still rumble across the viaduct high above, keeping the borough connected to its railroad heritage. Down at street level, residents have easy access to outdoor recreation along the D&H Rail Trail and peaceful spots like Luciana Park. With the local school campus and Barnes-Kasson Hospital right in the area, Lanesboro combines small-town convenience with a relaxed rural setting and plenty of natural beauty.
