About Langdon Place

Langdon Place is a small home rule city in east Louisville, gathered around Goose Creek Road and Westport Road. The 2020 census counted 870 residents. It incorporated on June 28, 1977, and the city now describes its footprint as 325 single-family homes. Borders with Murray Hill, Meadow Vale, Rolling Hills, Westwood, Plantation, and Louisville make the place read as one of the small incorporated pockets inside the consolidated city-county map.

A mayor and four commissioners handle the work that makes the boundary useful: maintaining roughly 450 city-planted trees, repairing sidewalks and curbs, paving streets, tending lights and signs, and managing the neighborhood mailbox system. Westport Road is the big regional route, carrying state-highway traffic toward the rest of east Louisville. Langdon Place has no need for a grand commercial center to tell its story. Its local business happens through the commission, the streets, and the small collection of homes that keeps a separate city government in the middle of Louisville.
