Latta, SC

Latta is a quiet, close-knit town in South Carolina’s Pee Dee region, sitting about seven miles south of Dillon along U.S. 301 and 501. Originally built as a late-nineteenth-century railroad stop, the community has held onto much of its historic character. A walk down Main Street takes you past classic brick storefronts that give the town center a genuine, welcoming feel.

Most of the town's key spots are clustered close to that central strip. Residents take special pride in the 1914 Carnegie library, a rare preserved gem that still serves the county alongside the Dillon County Museum across the street. With local schools keeping families connected and neighbors who know each other by name, Latta offers a relaxed, traditional small-town pace.
