Launiupoko, HI

Situated just south of Lahaina on the lower slopes of the West Maui Mountains, Launiupoko is one of the island’s most scenic and sought-after hillside communities. Most homes here sit on generous multi-acre agricultural lots, offering residents plenty of privacy, room for gardens or orchards, and wide-open views across the ocean toward Lanaʻi and Kahoʻolawe. Running along the coast just below, Honoapiʻilani Highway provides a quick and direct connection to nearby towns for groceries, dining, and daily errands.

At the foot of the hillside lies Launiupoko Beach Park, a favorite gathering spot for locals and ocean lovers. The gentle, rolling waves make it a prime location for longboarding and paddleboarding, while a calm rock-enclosed wading pool offers a sheltered place for young kids to swim. With its shady palms, grassy picnic lawns, and front-row seats for evening sunsets, the beach park serves as the natural heart of this quiet, relaxed neighborhood.
