Lebanon, PA

Lebanon is a small city and county seat in south-central Pennsylvania, between Harrisburg, Reading, and Lancaster. European colonists settled the area in 1720 along a creek then known by names tied to early families such as Steitz and Light. Later, Lebanon became known for heavy industry, including a major steel mill operated by Bethlehem Steel. The city still has an older Pennsylvania industrial feel, with rowhouses, churches, schools, and county institutions. Its strongest local calling card is Lebanon bologna, which remains closely tied to the region.
