LeChee, AZ

LeChee is a census-designated place in Coconino County, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation about five miles south of Page. The 2020 census counted 1,236 residents. The community sits along Highway N20 near Lake Powell, with red-rock mesas, grazing lands, and the Page area shaping the daily map. Its name comes from Diné lichíí, associated with red and the burgundy leaves of a medicinal plant.

LeChee Chapter is a local Navajo Nation government, with a chapter house and elected leadership coordinating community services and development. The chapter’s work gives the community a civic center beyond its scattered homes. Page Unified School District serves students, and Page supplies regional shopping, health care, and employment connections.
