About Leeds
Leeds is a city in Benson County, North Dakota, United States. The 2020 census counted 442 residents. Leeds was founded in 1887 and named after Leeds, England. Leeds was one of several sites along the Great Northern Railway's transcontinental route between Devils Lake and Minot that were named after places in England. The short version is that Leeds carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now. That is the local read on Leeds: its past remains attached to the places people use now.
