Lester, AL

Sitting right along the Alabama-Tennessee line in northern Limestone County, Lester is a tiny, quiet rural community of around a hundred residents. Life here centers around open farmland, country roads, and close-knit neighbors. Families have the benefit of West Limestone High School right in town, while outdoor enthusiasts can take a quick ten-mile drive south to Wheeler Lake and Joe Wheeler State Park for great weekend boating, camping, and fishing.

Day-to-day life in Lester is relaxed and slow-paced, though the community does have some fun local history. The old D.E. Jackson Memorial Hospital, a small clinic that closed in the 1990s, draws visitors from across the region every October when it transforms into a popular haunted house. For everyday errands, dining, and commutes, County Highway 17 runs right through town and connects residents to Athens and the broader Huntsville area.
