Lewisberry, PA

Lewisberry is a York County borough in the Bennetts Run Valley, where Irish and German Quakers began settling in the 1730s. The borough was incorporated in 1832 and is now among York County's oldest boroughs. The 2020 census counted 380 residents. Its early map grew from Quaker farms, springs, roads, and a flour mill built in 1785 by John Harmon.

The mill made Lewisberry a service center for the agricultural hinterland, and the old Quaker meetinghouse still gives the surrounding road network a historical reference. Silver Lake, a man-made lake created by Quaker settlers to power the mill, remains a local landscape feature. Today Lewisberry sits in the York-Hanover metropolitan area, with the borough's small government and village streets close to larger regional routes. Ski Roundtop is about three miles southwest, adding a nearby recreation destination, while the historic core keeps the place tied to the valley's early farming and milling story. Lewisberry is a small borough whose present shape still follows the practical geography of water, mill power, and Quaker settlement.
