Lexington, MI

On Michigan’s Thumb, Lexington faces Lake Huron from the west shore, about 20 miles north of Port Huron. Its harbor is the practical center of the place: two breakwaters shelter a five-acre anchorage, a 10-foot approach channel serves boats, and the main breakwater includes fishing facilities. The village’s shoreline map now includes Tierney Park and a harbor redevelopment project, so the water remains both working infrastructure and a civic focus. Lexington’s municipal system also supplies water to neighboring communities. It is Michigan’s Thumb with a compact village, a real harbor, and a long eastern shoreline that points the town toward the lake.
