Lincoln Heights, OH (Village)

Lincoln Heights is a Hamilton County village north of Cincinnati, founded in the 1920s as a place where Black families could buy homes when surrounding communities denied them access. Many early residents worked at nearby industrial plants, including Wright Aeronautical and later General Electric. The land was originally unincorporated and came with little municipal infrastructure; residents organized for self-government and the village incorporated in 1946. Princeton City Schools now serve the village, including Lincoln Heights Elementary, with secondary students attending Princeton schools. Lincoln Heights is an Ohio village whose map carries a clear story of Black homeownership, self-government, and the industries that helped make the suburb possible.
