Lingle, WY

Lingle sits between Torrington and Fort Laramie in Goshen County, where the railroad and irrigation-era agriculture meet the route of the Oregon Trail. The town incorporated on September 7, 1918, and was named for H. D. Lingle. Its local history is direct about the town's foundations: Lingle was largely built from railroad and agriculture, with Main Street still carrying the civic address at Town Hall.

The town's present-day map adds the pieces that make a small eastern Wyoming place work. Lingle has a community center for council meetings, a town pool, a local fire department, and LFL Elementary School, whose grounds host tree-planting and seasonal community events. The town also keeps water and sewer work visible through annual reports and public documents. Out beyond the compact grid, Goshen County opens into ranch country and the old Oregon Trail corridor.
