Lisman, AL
Lisman is a historic town in northern Choctaw County, Alabama. Named after a nineteenth-century railroad investor when the local rail line was constructed, the community of about 430 residents has a significant civil rights legacy. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. visited the town to lead a voter registration rally on April 30, 1966.
